Activity Overview
Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common primary glomerulonephritis globally and an important cause of chronic kidney disease and kidney failure in young adults. As understanding of its complex autoimmune and inflammatory mechanisms deepens, new opportunities are emerging to improve patient outcomes through targeted and individualized therapy.
This CME program will provide clinicians with a comprehensive update on current and emerging strategies for evaluating and managing IgAN. Expert faculty will integrate recent advances in disease pathophysiology, risk assessment, and therapeutic development with practical approaches to patient care.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward nephrologists, nephrology nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and other health care practitioners involved in the care of patients with IgAN.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Describe the underlying pathophysiologic mechanisms contributing to the development and progression of IgAN
- Apply clinical and laboratory findings to distinguish IgAN from other glomerular diseases in diagnostic decision-making
- Evaluate recent clinical trial evidence related to novel and emerging disease-modifying therapies for the treatment of IgAN
- Develop patient-centered strategies for early detection and intervention in IgAN
