Activity Overview

Cardiometabolic disorders are a significant source of morbidity and mortality in psoriatic disease. The presence of traditional cardiovascular (CV) risk factors, such as hypercholesterolemia, metabolic syndrome, and obesity, contributes to the elevated risk of CV disease in patients with psoriasis. CV risk stratification and management should be integral to patient care, yet 20% to 40% of psoriasis patients with CV risk factors remain untreated, often due to a lack of awareness or time constraints.

This online educational activity is designed to provide expert perspectives of new and emerging data from clinical trials in patients with cardiovascular complications of psoriasis with a focus on reviewing the safety data from recent clinical trials and how to apply this data in practice. The program includes a case-based approach to highlight the key messages shared by the expert faculty.

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward dermatologists. Cardiologists, internists, NPs, PAs, RNs, and other HCPs involved in the care of patients with PsO and CV comorbidities will also find it useful.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Summarize the impact of cardiovascular comorbidities in patients with psoriasis and their influence on overall disease management.
  • Evaluate the efficacy and safety of biologic therapies in psoriasis management, including their impact on cardiovascular risk.
  • Implement holistic management plans in patients with psoriasis that address cardiovascular risk.
