Activity Overview
In this video-based program, a multispecialty expert panel provides perspectives on the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and its progressive subtype, metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH), which pose a critical and escalating public health crisis, particularly in patients with type 2 diabetes. The program covers recent guideline updates on these topics, appropriate management in the primary care setting, and referral to specialists in gastroenterology/hepatology.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward hepatologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, primary care physicians, specialty nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and other health care practitioners who manage MASH.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Apply evidence-based diagnostic algorithms and noninvasive testing strategies to stage fibrosis in patients with suspected metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) or metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH)
- Evaluate the latest clinical trial evidence and safety considerations for new and emerging therapies in MASH
- Integrate multidisciplinary perspectives into management plans for patients with MASLD/MASH
