Activity Overview

For most patients with immunotherapy-eligible metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC) the frontline standard of care is chemotherapy plus pembrolizumab, based on results of the KEYNOTE-355 trial. Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) have been used in the second-line setting or later. However, recent results from a pivotal clinical trial challenged this paradigm, with the combination of a TROP2-directed ADC plus pembrolizumab demonstrating superior progression-free compared with a conventional chemotherapy-based combination. Ongoing trials are investigating other TROP2-directed ADCs with pembrolizumab in this setting.

This podcast features a discussion of the pivotal frontline trial data in immunotherapy-eligible mTNBC and the clinical implications, as well as adverse event management, led by Rohit Gosain, MD and Rahul Gosain, MD.

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed by medical oncologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, oncology nurses and other HCPs who manage patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Evaluate recent data from pivotal clinical trials investigating new frontline treatments for mTNBC
  • Apply emerging evidence, PD-L1 status, and patient preferences to select optimal first-line therapy for patients with mTNBC
  • Identify key adverse events and supportive care strategies associated with new treatment approaches for mTNBC
