Activity Overview
Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are under investigation to provide escalation and de-escalation options in the neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings for patients with HER2-positive early-stage breast cancer. In metastatic disease, ADCs already approved in second- or third-line settings are being studied in the first line. Trials are underway to determine the benefit of CDK4/6 inhibitors as an add-on to maintenance therapy.
This Community Practice Connection™ program provides an in-depth review of some of the key highlights from an Association of Cancer Care Centers virtual webcast series on current and emerging therapies in early-stage and metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer. This unique and engaging multimedia activity is ideal for the community-based clinician. It focuses on clinical trial data of targeted and immunotherapy. The program is designed for those who did not attend the live meeting and to help reinforce learning for those who did.
Target Audience
This educational program is primarily directed toward community-based surgical and medical oncologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of breast cancer.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Evaluate current and emerging clinical trial data to support evidence-based sequencing of HER2-directed therapies across stages in HER2+ breast cancer
- Integrate patient-, disease-, and treatment-related variables—including safety, tolerability, site of care, and patient goals—into personalized HER2+ breast cancer management strategies
- Analyze key safety and tolerability data for current and emerging HER2-targeted therapies to inform evidence-based patient counseling and AE management in HER2+ breast cancer
