Activity Overview
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that significantly impacts patients’ quality of life, yet it remains underrecognized and often misdiagnosed. Characterized by recurrent and painful nodules, abscesses, and scarring, HS poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. With growing research into the pathophysiology and emerging treatment options for this condition, there is a pressing need for clinicians to stay informed on best practices in the management of HS.
In this continuing education activity, faculty experts will review disease pathogenesis, highlight the role of inflammation and microbial dysbiosis, and provide updates on evolving treatment strategies, including medical, surgical, and multidisciplinary approaches. Practical guidance will be shared regarding the assessment of disease severity and strategies to improve long-term outcomes.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward dermatologists, dermatology PAs, NPs, RNs, and other HCPs involved in the management of HS.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Explain the key events and mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of hidradenitis suppurativa
- Assess disease severity using recommended instruments and evaluations in clinical practice
- Identify disease phenotypes in diverse patient populations with hidradenitis suppurativa
- Implement evidence-based, holistic treatment strategies in the management of hidradenitis suppurativa
