Activity Overview
Over the past decade, the treatment landscape for advanced HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer has been transformed by the combined use of CDK4/6 inhibitors with endocrine therapy (ET). Yet, there is a continuing need for novel ETs that improve treatment outcomes and overcome therapeutic resistance.
This program convenes leading experts to critically examine the latest data on novel ETs and to bridge the gap between the evidence and clinical decision-making. Their discussions focus on current uses for oral selective estrogen receptor degraders (SERDs), as well as emerging roles of next-generation agents, including new drug classes, combination approaches, and use of oral SERDs for early-stage disease. These discussions are presented in the Medical Crossfire® format, designed to illustrate how the faculty approach challenging decision points in their practices.
This educational activity is an archive of the live virtual symposium held on March 7, 2026.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward oncologists, advanced practice professionals, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners who manage patients with HR+/HER2– metastatic breast cancer.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Implement evidence-based strategies for timely biomarker testing, including ctDNA, to optimize the detection and management of ESR1 mutations in HR+/HER2– breast cancer
- Evaluate recent clinical trial data on emerging oral SERDs to inform individualized therapeutic decision-making in HR+/HER2– breast cancer
- Develop multidisciplinary strategies to effectively manage treatment-related adverse events associated with oral SERD therapies in HR+/HER2– breast cancer
