Activity Overview
The management of esophagogastric adenocarcinoma has evolved substantially with the introduction of effective targeted and immunologic therapies. However, these therapies are appropriate mainly for patients with specific biomarkers, necessitating careful coordination among the multidisciplinary team to ensure proper tissue stewardship and testing, which in turn allows for appropriate treatment selection and sequencing, as well as management and mitigation of adverse events.
In this webcast, experts in the management of esophagogastric adenocarcinoma discuss the principles for molecular testing in these cancers, with a particular focus on identifying HER2-positive disease, as well as outlining key decision points for treatment. These points will be discussed in the context of patient case scenarios that highlight challenges in the management of HER2-positive esophagogastric cancers.
This educational activity is an archive of the live virtual symposium held on April 23, 2026.
Target Audience
This educational program is primarily directed toward medical oncologists, molecular pathologists, radiologists, gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers, and nurses who are involved in the management of patients with advanced or metastatic gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas (GEA).
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Apply best practices for HER2 biomarker testing in patients with GEA to guide timely, individualized treatment decisions
- Incorporate the latest evidence on HER2-directed therapies into individualized treatment plans for patients with advanced GEA
