Overview:
The management of esophagogastric adenocarcinoma has evolved substantially with the introduction of effective targeted and immunologic therapies. However, these therapies are appropriate mainly for patients with specific biomarkers, necessitating careful coordination among the multidisciplinary team to ensure proper tissue stewardship and testing, which in turn allows for appropriate treatment selection and sequencing, as well as management and mitigation of adverse events.
In this live, virtual webcast, experts in the management of
esophagogastric adenocarcinoma discuss the management of adverse events
associated with different options along the treatment continuum for
HER2-positive disease. These points will be discussed in the context of patient
case scenarios that highlight challenges in the management of HER2-positive
esophagogastric cancers.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Implement strategies to mitigate and manage AEs associated with HER2-targeted therapy
- Enhance coordination among oncology care teams to support informed decision-making, treatment access, and patient engagement when managing HER2+ GEA
Target Audience:
This educational program is primarily directed toward
medical oncologists, molecular pathologists, radiologists, gastroenterologists,
advanced practice providers, and nurses who are involved in the management of
patients with advanced or metastatic gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas (GEA).
