Activity Overview
Preliminary results from the recent CATALYST study found hypercortisolism in 24% of patients with type 2 diabetes who are screened for the condition. Given the high prevalence of hidden hypercortisolism among patients with type 2 diabetes, early identification and treatment of these patients may help improve outcomes.
This SimulatEd™ program is an online, on-demand activity designed to enhance clinical reasoning for health care providers involved in the diagnosis and management of hypercortisolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It consists of a simulated patient encounter that requires learners to make clinical decisions and review updates from expert faculty on best practices in the diagnosis and management of hypercortisolism, fostering critical thinking and decision-making skills in a risk-free setting.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward endocrinologists and diabetes specialists. Other HCPs involved in the care of patients with Cushing syndrome, such as NPs, PAs, RNs, will also find it useful.
