Activity Overview
The BURST CME™ format is an online, on-demand video program designed to deliver concise, modular education. In these modules, Uday Devgan, MD, FACS, FRCS, reviews presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses (IOLs) and toric IOLs for patients with astigmatism. Topics discussed include the various IOLs available, which patients would most benefit from the different types of IOLs, and how to incorporate patient preferences and lifestyle into consideration. Additionally, best practices and clinical pearls are provided throughout the program.
Target Audience
This online educational activity is directed toward cataract/refractive specialists, comprehensive ophthalmologists, and optometrists involved in the management of cataract/refractive surgery patients.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Evaluate effective patient counseling techniques using real-world video cases to guide the selection of presbyopia-correcting and toric IOLs.
- Assess different counseling approaches using video case examples of challenging patient discussions about intraocular lens (IOL) options
- Review surgical video cases to identify key technical pearls and common pitfalls in presbyopia- correcting and toric IOL implantation.
